Graduated 1974. Married my high school sweetheart and football player, Steven A. Pasichow, also a Tilden graduate.
Class of 1956, currently living in the Los Angeles area, still working as a forensic engineer. Open to contacts from other Tilden alumni, especially those I know.
1964 grad: After all these years, I still remember my Tilden experience as a stepping stone in my life. How sad to think that after 2010 students will not be able to have that wonderful experience. Somehow I always thought that it would never change. HAIL TILDEN HIGH

(Class of 94) Wow it seems just like yesterday that I was walking the halls of Tilden, running on the track in the AM and PM trying to make sure our school had the #1 track team. Tilden will truly be missed. I had some of the best times there and I will always have wonderful memories.
I graduated in 1974, and went on like so many others knowing that I had received an excellent education to prepare me for future challenges. As a college professor now, I know that we worked harder and more rigorously than most of my students do today. (Well, Im' sure it helped that we lived at home and didn't have tuition to pay...)::Hail, Tilden High! (Was that the old song?)
Greetings to All MY FELLOW TILDENITES! I just want to say Thanks to ALL THE TEACHERS and STAFF WHO HAVE SHAPED MY LIFE AS A STUDENT AS WELL AS AN ADULT. SOME NOTABLE PEDAGOGUES ARE: PATRICIA GORDON AND RACHEL SANCHEZ(ENGLISH), THELMA ROGERS(SOCIAL STUDIES), AND B. YAGED (FENCING INSTRUCTOR). THESE INDIVIDUALS (TO NAME A FEW) HAVE INSPIRED ME TO REACH MY FULLEST POTENTIAL. I WAS PROUD OF MY EXPERIENCE AS A STUDENT AND I WAS PROUD OF THE BRIEF OPPORTUNITY I HAD TO SERVE AS A TEACHER. I END WITH THE WORDS OF OUR SONG....HAIL TILDEN HIGH! CLASS 1990

1974 grad.....great memories and now finding some old friends that are reminding me of even more great times. I am not clear on why Tilden is closing but staying open....seems to me the 4th mini school could be Tilden since the building will still remain...right?::::Either way its a sad day when Brooklyn losses a school like Tilden!
Graduated in June, 1963. Very fond memories....was captain of the "Boosters" and was friendly with all the cheerleaders and twirlers. Married my high school sweetheart who also went to Tilden, but not married to him anymore....but we share 4 wonderful grandchildren. So many wonderful memories of Tilden. Who was in sophomore, junior and senior sing? That was fun for sure!

0h My Goodness! Class of 2010. Last year of Samuel J. Tilden . I had so many good times. Its so sad to see the school phase out =( . Well I was a cheerleader go Blue Devils =) Aw man I really did enjoy going to Samuel J. Tilden . Im going to miss it . Much Love Tilden.
I just found out that Tilden is closing and it is very upsetting.Don't quite understand the new structure but I guess there is a reason for it. It was a great school back then (Class of 74') and I'm sure it will be missed. Many good friends and memories.

Class of 2000. I will say when I found out Tilden is closing. A soft spot was hit. The memories, the friends, the relationships I build. It's surreal. The amazing part is you never realize how time flies, it's been 10 years for me. Looking back, Tilden played a major part in my development as an asset to society; the teachers, deans and staff.
Class of 1970.::Some of the best years of my life. ::Loved the clubs, the sports, the social scene, the neighborhood. . .even loved the teachers and classes. The Tilden experience gave us a good foundation for life success and fulfillment. ::Does anyone know of a reunion for the Class of 1970? I know of a multi-class get-together at some restaurant in Manhattan with open bar and music, but I wish there was a more traditional type of reunion where it would be easier for people to connect. If you know of something being planned, please advise !
Student ::Graduated 1967

Graduated in 1963. I left New York in 1968, (live in Reno, Nv. now) but I'm sure glad that I got a chance to go back and visit Tilden in 2005, before it closes - sorry to hear that. I am still in touch with friends I graduated with and would love to hear from fellow classmates.
Grad 1972 Now living in Florida
I Graduated in 2003, My only wish during my high school experience was to make some real friends. Kudos to Mrs. Bernstein for trying to get me to focus even when I wasn't confident in myself in the past. I am grateful for all of your help Mrs.Bernstein. Also to all teachers I am sorry I didn't show you my true potential that I have. If I wasn't so negative to myself I think my high school experience would have been even better as well. To my past math teachers. If only you can see my abilities now! Tilden, You will be missed! I won't deny any anger I've had, But I forgive any people that have wronged me in the school. God Speed Tilden High!
Graduated - 1965
Ruth (Ricky) Mirer now Weber
Went to tilden 1953 thru 1956. Was a Tilden twirler, Growing up and going to Tilden in those years were truly great. Living in Fla. now and am still friends with most of my Tilden pals.
(Tilden '65)Hey: I went by Tilden last August when I was back East with my daughter and son-in-law, both of whom are California natives and were curious about my roots. We were in New Jersey for a family affair.:: Starting with a drive over the Verrazano, through Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Sheepshead Bay, then to the Belt Parkway Flatbush exit; took a detour over the (Gil Hodges)bridge (aka Marine Parkway), by Riis Park, then back through Mill Basin. Circled the beloved Glenwood Projects then on to Tilden...:: Turned out that student were taking Regents that day...I was happy to hear that NY State still required them. :: Circled around Tilden to the gym exit, then of course to the running track to check out the all-weather surface. To my surprise, it was a THREE LANE TRACK, by far the narrowist I've ever seen... (Biographical note: I basically lived on the track, left lots of blood, sweat, tears, and laughs there, and it sowed the seeds of my lifetime dream come true as a high school track/cross country coach, although in Los Angeles, where my girls's team won the L.A. City Championship in track last year and the boys won the LA City cross country title last fall...):: It was great to see that the field is now called Bernie Mars Field, after the coach of many a City Championship team in the fifties and sixties. Could we call the Track, the Joel Hochheiser Track? :: Joel was our coach, and was an inspiration to all of us. He went on to set national distance records with his team at Wagner High School in Staten Island. :: At a gettogether about 18 years ago, he confided that he didn't really learn how to coach till after he left Tilden. Obviously, as we were strong in the half mile, but not national class as were his StatenIslanders.:: would love to hear from Tilden Alumni who ran track at any time at Tilden, and their stories of the influence that it may have had on their lives (+ or -). From any era, boys girls, distance or sprints. Love to All...(Irv Schoenfeld or Henry Ginsberg please respond)
